Job Description
This job is responsible for investigating moderately complex, unrepresented claims which may include: uninsured or underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims involving physical property damage and/or bodily injury in single or multi car accidents, Injury Casualty Soft Tissue (ICST), and unrepresented moderate claims. The individual also may handle moderately complex, non-represented CPL claims. The individual takes recorded statements, resolves loss of use claims, makes payments to appropriate parties, and negotiates and settles or refers bodily injury issues that cannot be resolved.

Job Description:
Our team is expanding, and we are actively seeking a Claims Advisor to join our Bodily Injury department. Reporting to the Bodily Injury Claims Manager, you will be responsible for investigating and settling Bodily Injury cases by thoroughly examining coverage, liability, and quantum, while adhering to territorial quality and disposition guidelines.
Role Designation: Remote
Accountabilities:

Conduct comprehensive investigations into the coverage, liability, and quantum aspects of all assigned cases.

Evaluate claims quantum by analyzing medical and wage documentation and conducting research
-
Establish and adjust reserves as necessary.
-
Negotiate and resolve claims over the phone, involving plaintiffs and/or their counsel.
-
Follow company guidelines for updates and authorization requests.

Collaborate with external vendors to ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:

Preferred post-secondary education or equivalent.
-
Minimum 1 year of direct claims handling experience
-
Bodily Injury claim handling experience is preferred
-
Completion of the CIP designation or a strong desire to pursue it is preferred.

Previous experience in insurance, along with knowledge of injury claims, medical rehabilitation concepts, and medical terminology, is advantageous.

Exceptional time management and organizational skills, including the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong critical thinking capabilities for assessing claim strengths and weaknesses.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Notre Service des dommages corporels, en plein essor, est à la recherche d’un conseiller ou d’une conseillère en réclamations. Relevant de la directrice ou du directeur, dommages corporels, la ou le titulaire du poste sera responsable de réaliser des enquêtes et de régler des dossiers de dommages corporels en examinant méticuleusement les garanties applicables, la responsabilité civile et le montant des dommages, et ce, dans le respect des lignes directrices territoriales sur la qualité et le règlement.

Responsabilités :

Effectuer des enquêtes exhaustives de sorte à établir les garanties, la responsabilité civile et le montant des dommages des cas attribués;

Évaluer le montant des réclamations en analysant les documents médicaux et salariaux et en effectuant des recherches;

Établir et ajuster les provisions, au besoin;

Négocier et régler des réclamations par téléphone avec les plaignants ou leur avocat·e;

Compétences :

Compétences :

Études postsecondaires ou leur équivalent, un atout;

Expérience d’au moins un an dans le traitement de réclamations;

Expérience dans le traitement de réclamations pour dommages corporels, un atout;
-
Détention du titre de professionnel·le d’assurance agréé·e (PAA) ou avoir la volonté de l’obtenir, un atout;
-
Expérience dans le domaine de l’assurance et connaissances en matière de réclamations pour blessures, de réadaptation médicale et de terminologie médicale, un atout;
-
Sens aigu de l’organisation et de la gestion du temps, ainsi que la capacité à s’épanouir dans un environnement qui évolue rapidement;
-
Pensée critique permettant de repérer les forces et les faiblesses d’un dossier de réclamation;
-
Excellentes aptitudes en communication orale et écrite, ainsi que la volonté d’offrir un service à la clientèle hors pair;
-
Connaissance des règles des procédures judiciaires et des échéanciers connexes, un atout.
