The Communications Lead Consultant helps develop, implement, manage and measure communication programs and plans for Go to Market and Distribution teams that help accelerate Allstate’s competitive advantage through reputation, increase confidence in Allstate’s business strategy and create a more purpose-driven culture. They build and sustain strong relationships with others within and outside the department, and across many leadership levels. Primary projects include planning and preparing content for exclusive agent town halls and employee touchpoints, and developing other strategic communication plans to lead stakeholders through transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Communication Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement short- and long-range communication plans reaching one or more of the seven key Allstate stakeholders (employees, consumers, customers, agency force, opinion leaders, policy makers and investors), with a goal to improve Allstate’s reputation overall and by individual stakeholder.
• Project Management: Work as part of a team to develop, coordinate and execute communication plans and projects. Work collaboratively and integrate with team members, including across other teams or business areas. Meet deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities. Coordinate work of junior team members.
• Data-Driven Planning: Research and use stakeholder data and analytics insights to inform communication plans and tactics and monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication plans; provide and implement recommendations for enhancements based on insights.
• Strategic Communication Counsel for Business Areas and Leaders: Support communication managers and senior managers in providing strategic communication counsel to business leaders. As required, serve as a liaison between the department and other business areas, business partners and/or internal/external partners and vendors. Partner, as appropriate, with enterprise communication teams to guide and influence communication plans. Use interpersonal influence to build relationships and support communication plans.
• Content Creation: With a mindset of curiosity, find story ideas that help raise awareness of Allstate as an innovative, customer-centric and caring company. Work with the PR/media team to develop and pitch content and secure placement in traditional and social media channels (owned, earned and paid), and on internal communication platforms, as appropriate.
• Champion of Culture: Help develop and/or support communication strategies and tactics to create an inclusive, empowering, and purpose-driven corporate culture aligned to Allstate’s corporate narrative. Demonstrate a positive, open and flexible mindset during times of change and encourage others through change.
