Experienced Exchange Messaging/Exchange Engineer

This position is offered to an experienced (5-10 years) Exchange developer/engineer who is eager to help support Allstate’s diverse email, electronic fax, and email security environment.  The qualified individual will support existing core platforms, custom solutions in addition to creating and assisting with the design of new.  Duties will also include supporting the core messaging team in its efforts to implement change, participate in break/fix and provide level three support to Allstate’s 100k+ seat organization.  The eligible candidate will participate in the team’s on-call rotation and be engaged in multiple projects while mentoring junior engineers.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following: good attitude, clear communication skills (both verbal and written), be a team player, a self-starter who is able to work independently, capable of multi-tasking, managing multiple tracks of work, deliver on commitments and be able to troubleshoot complex issues.

 

Qualifications

- Experience with Exchange APIs, access methods (MAPI, POP3, IMAP), and methodologies for integrating email to other systems such as Archiving and Fax.

- Experience in Active Directory, DNS and firewalls

- Broad knowledge of Microsoft products and technologies

- Product recommendation, product installation, hardware/software configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, DR activities including testing.  

- In-depth knowledge and experience with Enterprise Archive platforms including ZL Unified Archive: Discovery Manager, Compliance Manager, and Supervision workflows.

- In-depth knowledge and experience satisfying business compliance requirements related to SEC/NASD regulation 17a-4 and FINRA

-Experience with NetApp snaplock storage platforms, NAS, DFS and replication

- Enterprise incident handling by detecting, analyzing and performing remediation on Email attacks with outstanding troubleshooting skills

- Working knowledge of ITIL principles and working within release schedules

- Ability to communicate well with team, leadership and customers, both written and verbally

- Experience creating and maintaining system documentation and drawings

 

 

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge & experience with Microsoft Exchange (2010, 2013, 2016, Exchange Online/O365)
  • Experience with Email security, including enterprise tools to manage viruses, malware, and spam.
  • Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and secure email messaging.
  • Experience with mobile messaging solutions such as the ActiveSync protocol.
  • Experience with Exchange APIs, access methods (MAPI, POP3, IMAP, EWS), and methodologies for integrating email with other systems such as archiving and electronic fax.
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS and firewalls
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft products and technologies
  • Background which includes making product recommendations, performing product installation, Hardware/software configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, DR activities and testing.  
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.
  • Accustomed to executing scheduled weekend and after-hours changes
  • Comfortable in responding to unplanned outages that may occur at any time
  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles and working within release schedules
  • Ability to communicate well with team, leadership and customers, both written and verbally
  • Experience creating and maintaining system written documentation and diagrams
  • 4yr degree in a Computer Science
  • Current certifications
